On Friday March 12th, 2010 Dr. Godsey and Dental Assistant, Wanda Gonzalez, volunteered at the Missions of Mercy Clinic sponsored by the North Carolina Dental Society. The clinic was held at the National Guard Armory in Durham on Friday, March 12th and Saturday, March 13th. It is the largest free adult dental clinic in the state's history. There were over 80 dentists and 400 volunteers that participated. Patients were treated on a first-come first-served basis. Patients received examinations, x-rays, cleanings, restorations and extractions for free. They were also offered oral health education. The dentists and volunteers treated 650 people that Friday. "It went really well. It was a really moving experience. It was awesome!" said Wanda Gonzalez.

On Friday February 6, 2009 Dr. Godsey, Dr. Gandini and the staff volunteered their time to participate in the Give Kids a Smile campaign. This program is a national campaign to provide access to dental care for children. This is our 6th year participating in this worth while cause. Dr. Godsey, Dr. Gandini and the staff screened roughly 80 children.

Dr. Godsey, Dr. Gandini and the staff have been very busy lately taking part in some awesome training. On November 19, 2008 Dr. Godsey, Dr. Gandini and the staff renewed their CPR certification through the American Heart Association and then on December 4, 2008 we went through our annual OSHA and HIPAA training with Total Compliance.

We are so proud to annouce that on October 29, 2008 Dr. Godsey & Dr. Gandini received their ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification. This was a 2-day intense training designed to teach healthcare providers how to recognize and initiate treatment for pre-arrest situations that may lead to cardiac arrest. This a great acheivement that allows us to take the care of our patients a step further.

In an effort to create opportunities for students and teachers, Dr. Godsey and his wife Paula sponsored the Walk/5K Race for Education with the Chapel Hill - Carrboro Public School Foundation. This is the third year that Dr. Godsey and Paula have been able to take part in this wonderful event.

We welcome Liliana Gandini, DMD to our practice. Dr. Gandini brings with her 15 years of experience in private practice. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Gandini is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Durham Orange Dental Society and the Puerto Rico Dental Society. We look forward to working with Dr. Gandini and we are excited about having her on our team.

Congratulations to Dr. Godsey! In August 2007 Dr. Godsey celebrated 15 years in practice. Dr. Godsey has a strong passion for Periodontics and truly enjoys his work. He feels so blessed to be here in Chapel Hill and over the last 15 years he has meet a lot of wonderful patients and colleagues.
